Joe Mason earned his B.A. in English at Southern Connecticut State University and is finishing up his fourth year at Umass. He currently teaches College Writing and will continue to do so in the fall of 2009. In spring of 2010, he is teaching his first very own literature course: Gender, Sexuality, Literature, and Culture. He is currently working on his areas, which include postcolonial and transnational novels of the latter 20th century to the present. More specifically, he plans to write on the intersections of class, race, gender, and national citizenship, including the ways individual and collective agency are enacted in oppressive contexts.
