Area lists and rationales submitted to Graduate Office
DEADLINE for completing Area Exams
Sign up for dissertation credits
Fourth year:
DEADLINE for submitting Prospectus
Meet with Assoc. GPD about job search
Work on dissertation
Fifth year:
Finish dissertation
File degree paperwork with Graduate Program Office
Job search
Note: The proposed changes in the American Studies program requirements will allow the required courses to count as one of the 8 required courses. If the Area Exam moves to Two Areas, then two courses could be fulfilled with Area Exam credits. Students sign up for dissertation credits with the Graduate Office.
