“Change is the Only Constant”: Society & Culture in Transition
The Sixth Annual Graduate History Association Conference
Historians spend a great deal of time attempting to find breaks in the historical record—the moments when change occurs. Scholarship in the last two decades has emphasized the need to explore the more nuanced ways in which historical actors initiate change. What roles have individuals, institutions, organizations, and movements played in fomenting change? Examining these transitional moments in history can help us make sense of the social and cultural dynamics we confront today.
Keynote Address: “The Social Construction of Silence”
